An initiative to promote a culture of self-sufficiency, resilience, and solidarity through small-scale home gardens in the villages northwest of Jerusalem (Beit ‘Anan, Beit Ijza, Beit Hanina al-Tahta, al-Jib, and Beit Duqqu), areas that do not fall administratively under either Israeli occupation authorities or the Palestinian Authority. This year, the initiative will expand to support 60 women-led family farms, ranging in size from 3 to 5 dunams, by providing seedlings, seeds, and irrigation networks in accordance with ecological farming principles. This will contribute not only to alleviating economic burdens, but also to confronting annexation and settlement expansion, promoting a culture of women’s cooperatives, and moving toward the establishment of larger women-led agricultural cooperative initiatives.
