#08 The Zombie

Once again, a new plan. The same old repulsive phrases: withdrawal lines, timeframes, mechanism, transitional, parameters, processes, committees, experts, investments, governance, technocrats, apolitical, rebuild, redevelop, reform, revitalize, reintegrate.

We know this sound. We recognize a new cycle of oppression the moment we hear those terms. We foresee our lives, souls, and energies being exhausted in endless loops. We see in them our future crushed in the gear teeth of Western politics. And we know that the plans will end in yet another catastrophe.

The Peel Commission of 1936 is the colonial zombie that never stops resurging. Almost 80 years after the partition plan, the Western paradigm of "solutions" and technical plans is still dominating our lives. The core of these solutions is the maintenance of Zionist supremacy. Their golden rule is to erase any discourse of rights and values, of historical justice, liberation, and equality. Their taboo is Palestinian genuine sovereignty and self-determination.

However, we don't claim that these plans have failed. We think that they were designed deliberately to ensure the infinite cycles of oppression.

The domination of the WENA region (Yes, we'll acronymize you back!) is fueled by the continuance of our oppression. Our suffering is vital not only for the prosperity of the weapons economy and military technology, but also for the maintenance of a gigantic industry of professionals across a wide variety of institutions: from embassies to think tanks, from academia to journalism, lobbying, international financial organizations, private diplomacy, "human rights advocates," and international agencies. Hundreds of thousands monitor, report, review, evaluate, research, amend, negotiate.

We must recognize that these forms of "solutions" are, by definition, unjust. Justice is not a matter of procedures. It's a matter of values and truth. And the truth is more than 20,000 children killed by Israel. The value is to hold the war criminals accountable.

Grassroots international activism today is the answer to institutional hegemony. Through the wonderful movements rising up around the globe—for Gaza, for humanity—we must raise awareness of the Western economy and job market that is fueled by "conflict" and "solutions."  █

Recently, we were honored to support the vital work of the Dental Healthcare for Children initiative. This initiative operates in displacement centers and hospitals—including Al-Awda Hospital and Al-Sahaba Medical Complex—providing comprehensive dental check-ups for children, identifying cases that require urgent medical intervention (such as severe injuries from Israeli bombardment), and developing treatment programs to prevent the progression of dental problems. The initiative has also established a dedicated clinic, where nearly 300 displaced children have received free treatment. It stands as a powerful example of how professionals in Gaza are fully committed to engaging in voluntary missions and humanitarian interventions.
