The "Jaras" initiative is led by a group of young activists in the cultural, social, and tourism fields in Sebastia and northwest Nablus. It aims to revitalize the cultural and social life of the village while respecting its historical and political context, focusing on human and national values and engaging school students and youth. The initiative runs programs such as summer camps for children, male and female dabke groups, training young tour guides, oral history research, and arts and literature activities including podcasts, creative writing, and mosaic art. "Jaras" was founded at a time of declining youth activity and ongoing pressures on the village, providing spaces for dialogue, community engagement, and the preservation of heritage. Its openness, ability to create cultural spaces, and commitment to empowering youth while defending community values make it a vital and inspiring model for the region.
